LOUD take down DRX in VCT LOCK//IN Semifinals

The Semifinals of the VCT LOCK//IN tournament have started and today saw the matchup between LOUD and DRX.

Map 1: Pearl

The first map of the best of five series was Pearl. LOUD looked dominant in the first half, winning nine rounds. They continued their stomp in the second half, winning four more rounds and only losing two. The final score was 13-5 in favor of LOUD. Aspas came up huge in the map for LOUD, by having a KDA of 24-9-4, as well as an ADR of 211. Fantastic stuff to help lead his team.

Map 2: Icebox

The second map, Pearl, was pretty similar to the first. LOUD again went up 9-3 after the first half. They also opened the second half with two straight round wins. However, DRX rebounded and won five straight rounds. Unfortunately, their luck ended there as LOUD quickly won the two rounds they needed to win the game. The final score was 13-8. Again leading LOUD to victory was aspas, who this time had a KDA of 27-13-3, as well as an ADR of 210.

Map 3: Split

The third map of the matchup was Split. At this point, LOUD had a 2-0 lead in the series and with a win would secure the victory. DRX this time started off the first half extremely well, winning nine rounds to go up 9-3 at halftime. The second half was very back and forth, but DRX prevailed and came out on top, as they only needed four more rounds to win the map. The final score was 13-7. Leading DRX was Duelist player BuZz, who had a KDA of 18-14-8.

Map 4: Fracture

LOUD was currently leading the series with a score of 2-1 and the next map up was Fracture. The first half this time was extremely close, with the score being 6-6 going into halftime. DRX then dominated in the second half, winning seven out of eight rounds to win the game. The final score was 13-7. Leading DRX was MaKo, who had a KDA of 24-10-13, as well as an ACS of 329. Great stuff from him.

Map 5: Ascent

The fifth and final map of the day was Ascent with the series tied at 2-2. DRX started off strong, winning the first two rounds, but then things cooled down from there as LOUD came back and won seven of the next ten rounds to go up with a score of 7-5 at halftime. LOUD opened the second half by winning two rounds, but then DRX won the next three rounds. LOUD quickly rebounded and won the next four rounds to secure the victory and eliminate the possibility of a reverse sweep from DRX. Leading LOUD this game was cauanzin, who had a KDA of 22-12-7.

With the win, LOUID advance to the Grand Finals where they will either play NAVI or FNATIC. With the loss, this is the end of the road for DRX in the LOCK//IN tournament.

Tomorrow's Matchup

Tomorrow will feature the last semifinal matchup, which is between NAVI and FNATIC.
