Aside from ending up being in the same as toxic and inting teammates, one of the things you wouldn’t want to happen in your future matches, especially if it’s a ranked game is when your teammate decides to leave the game or gets disconnected. This puts you at a massive disadvantage as you’ll have to play the whole match with a missing ally in a 4v5 fight. Winning will undoubtedly be a lot harder as your team will have to carry twice, if not thrice, as usual. If this ever happens to you, fret not as there’s a way to get out of it without dealing with consequences.
League of Legends, just like any other competitive game, features a remake system allowing you to get yourself out of the match when you have a missing teammate to ensure a fair battle. However, the remake option is only available under certain conditions.
Read on to learn how to remake in League of Legends.
What is a remake in League of Legends
A remake is an option similar to surrender or /ff available to most game modes such as normal and ranked Summoner’s Rift, Howling Abyss and Rotating Game Modes. This allows players to vote to end the game early and prevents them from having to play the remainder of the match. But unlike forfeits, remakes don’t count as a loss. Instead, no changes in your LP/Blue Essence or XP will occur and will only mark that particular match as a remake. However, this isn’t going to be the case for the inactive player/s, and Diamond IV and above players in their premade.
It's worth noting, though, that the option to remake is only accessible during specified time periods and under specific circumstances.
How to remake in League of Legends
If a player is inactive and has been disconnected for at least 90 seconds before the 3:00 mark, their teammates will be prompted by the system to consider the Remake option. Simply type /remake starting from 1:30 mark to initiate a vote. However, from 3:00 onwards, players can no longer use the remake option and will have to play for the rest of the game.
Aside from it, there are other rules that shall be followed:
- If a player AFKs/disconnects after their team gives up First Blood, their team will be unable to /remake.
- /remake votes can only be initiated once. Make it count!
- In a 4v5, at least two players must vote "yes" for the game to end. In a 3v5 or lower, a single player can make the call.
If your team agrees and votes yes, the match will end and players will be able to queue up again for another game.
What happens if you leave the game?
Leaving the game is highly discouraged and often results in punishments, as it can certainly ruin your fellow players’ games. Listed down are the penalties you can receive after leaving the game.
- 1.LP Loss
- Your account will be flagged by LeaverBuster, which will cause you to suffer from queue delays or lockout.
- If you’re Diamond IV and above, player/s in your premade account will also be punished.
Also, Riot has pointed out that you should move even if your team decides to remake, otherwise the system may mark you as AFK.
