How to get Season of the Chosen new Exotic armor: perks, guide

A new Season brings new Exotics for Guardians to get their hands on.

The release of Season of the Chosen today has seen three new armor pieces added to Destiny 2, one for each class.

Here’s a quick guide on how to acquire these Exotics and a breakdown of their perks:

How to Get

These three new exotics are obtained in the same way that the Exotics from Beyond Light were. That is, soloing through Legend and Master Lost Sectors that are found on Europa and in the Cosmodrome.

These Lost Sectors must be completed solo in order to qualify for the chance at an Exotic dropping but also be sure to check the map for what type of armor will be dropping. Since all of these new Exotics are Chest pieces make sure that the Lost Sector you choose to farm is dropping Chest pieces. The available Legend and Master Lost Sectors rotate each day so be sure to check regularly for when one granting Chest pieces is up. See below for an example of what these Lost Sectors look like on the map.

These Lost Sectors are extremely tough. The easier Legend difficulty has a recommended Power of 1300, which is far out of reach for most of the player base for at least a couple of weeks. With the right weapons and a well thought out build, these can be done at around 1280 though.

Hunter - Omnioculus

‘Beyond the Veil’ - You gain a second Smoke Bomb charge and have damage resistance while invisible. When you make an ally invisible, they gain damage resistance while invisible and you gain melee energy.

This creepy looking Exotic is designed to work with the Nightstalker subclass, specifically the Way of the Pathfinder skill tree. It's important to note that the damage resistance isn't tied to the invisibility granted by the Smoke Bomb but any form of invisibility. That is why the weapon Rat King will likely synergise very well with this Exotic as it grants invisibility when reloading after a kill.

Titan - Cuirass of the Falling Star

‘Glorious Charge’ - Greatly increase your Thundercrash impact damage. Gain and overshield that lasts longer the further you travel before striking a target.

A large portion of the Destiny 2 community has been asking for a buff to Thundercrash for some time now. The argument was that it dealt less damage than a Voidwalker’s Nova Bomb while also putting the user into a dangerous position.

This Exotic is basically the buff all Titan mains have been clamouring for. It’s a shame that the buff had to come in the form of an Exotic and not a simple damage increase but at least it's something. What’s not to love about more damage and an overshield to keep you alive?

This should also be paired with the Volatile Conduction Artifact mod which gives a further 30% increase to Arc Super damage when activated while on critical health.

Warlock - Mantle of Battle Harmony

‘Absorption Cells’ - Takedowns with weapons that have a damage type matching your subclass element grant you Super energy. While your Super energy is full, you instead gain a temporary bonus to weapon damage of the type matching your subclass element.

This Exotic is very reminiscent of the Warlock exclusive Exotic weapon ‘Tlaloc’ from the original Destiny. Tlaloc was a Scout Rifle that received a significant boost to handling, rate of fire and stability when the user’s Super was fully charged.

Weapons with Osmosis synergise really well with this Exotic as you don't have to worry about tailoring the energy type to your subclass type. Simply toss a grenade to turn the weapon into the same element as your subclass and fire away.
