Ground Branch is a slow-paced tactical first-person shooter featuring in-depth character and weapon customization that has been in development for the past 12 years. And today, we are getting a new, exciting, PvP game mode.
The Developers just announced that everyone could access the public test branch on Steam, featuring the newest update with many changes, the new game mode among them.
The last major update, V1032, was released a year ago in late January, and the upcoming major update, V1033, has been in development since, with many public test updates released in the past few months.
The new game mode is a Hostage Rescue with a little twist. One of the players on the attacking team will be randomly picked to play the hostage. It can be played with at least two players on each team, but it's recommended to play in teams of 5-7 players.
The defenders are restricted to within the building the hostage is in, unless the hostage escapes it. In addition, the hostage is hooded and cuffed, limiting their vision and world interactions.
The defending team can move the hostage around, but it requires two players to do so. One leads the hostage, and the other player to intimidate him.
The rules are straightforward. Attackers will win the match if they escort the hostage to one of the extraction zones or if they killed all the defenders. The defenders will win if they eliminate the attacking team.
Ground Branch is available now on Steam. You can try out the new game mode and test the other new editions by right-clicking Ground Branch in your Steam library, select Properties, click BETAS on the side menu, and then select 'communitytest - Community testing branch' from the drop-down menu.
