Chinese teams FPX and EDward Gaming have both been invited to the 2023 VCT LOCK//IN tournament, which will take place this upcoming February in São Paulo, Brazil.
With the additions of the two Chinese teams, there will now be 32 teams competing in VCT 2023 LOCK/IN, which is set to start on February 13th and conclude on March 4th. The tournament will feature two groups with sixteen teams each and will be a single elimination bracket.
The tournament will consist of three stages of competition: Alpha Matches, Omega Matches, and then the Finals Stage.
Alpha Matches are set to take place from February 13th to 19th and will be played until two teams remain. Omega Matches are set to take place from February 22nd to 27th and will also be played until two teams remain. Both groups will feature best of three matches.
The remaining four teams from both groups will qualify for semifinals. The winners of each semifinals match will square off in the Grand Finals. All these matches are best of five.
