Fortnite Competitive Around the World: Brazil!

Brazil's thriving Esports scene gains recognition, offering opportunities. Teams like Team Liquid and Hero Base, along with free-agent talents, contribute to the country's growth in competitive gaming. Official recognition as a sport boosts the sector's potential.

Brazil, a major player in the LATAM region, stands out for its fervent Esports community, where gaming goes beyond mere pastime and becomes a deep passion. Many young players see Esports as a way to escape economic challenges, catapulting Brazil into an Esports era that's attracting the attention of organizations and sponsors.

The road to official recognition for Esports in Brazil is filled with obstacles, but it has begun. The former Minister of Sports, Ana Moser, said that Brazil only saw Esports as part of the entertainment industry and not as a recognized sport. Recently, the new Minister of Sports in Brazil, Andrè Fufuca, has announced the creation of a special agency dedicated to the sector, saying that Brazil now values the capabilities and scale of Esports and considers it a real sport.

Brazil's Esports scene is fast growing in popularity, especially thanks to titles such as Valorant, League of Legends, and even Fortnite.

In recent years, many organizations have invested in Fortnite, but those with active competitive rosters today are few and can be counted on one hand. Notable among them is Team Liquid, featuring players like Pulga, Felipersa, who also participated in the recent FNCS Global Championship, and EdRoadToGlory.

Another team that has been part of the scene for about a year is F4TALITY Esports. Despite having a roster with remarkable players such as Night and Izuki, unfortunately, the team didn't get represented on the global stage.

The most prominent team in the Brazilian esports landscape is undoubtedly Hero Base, boasting players of the caliber of Phzin and Kitoz, known worldwide because of their performance in last year's FNCS. They also participated in this year's major.

It's also worth mentioning the expansion of rosters like Monaco Esports in the region, with a lineup that includes some of the best names in the region, such as Edson, Xeat, Gabzera aand Axadasz. The last two even performed quite well in this year's major tournament.

Of course, in addition to these players who are currently signed with these organizations, there are many other big names who are currently free agents. Some of them are Diguera, Wey, Frosty, KBR, Seeyun, King, and many more.

I've been following the Fortnite Brazilian Competitive scene for a few years now. While I don't have a 360-degree view, I'm pretty confident that the conditions are in place for growth, especially since, unlike in previous years, esports is now truly considered a sport in the country. This change opens up many opportunities. What do you think about this?
