This action-strategy spin-off takes place in the wider Minecraft universe and offers a new twist on the familiar gameplay that we all know and love. Instead of building bases to survive in the Overworld, players will work together to unite the mobs and fend off an invading Piglin army. It's a refreshing change of pace that promises to be easy to grasp for the casual strategy fan, while still providing plenty of depth for diehard genre enthusiasts.

What is the Story of Minecraft Legends?

Minecraft Legends offers a full story campaign (unlike the base Minecraft game) that will immerse players in the legend, as well as plenty of multiplayer options for cooperative and competitive play with friends. Whether you're working together to take down the Piglin threat or facing off against each other in thrilling battles, Minecraft Legends promises to be an unforgettable experience.

Players be taking on the legendary tale of "Unite The Overworld," where a hero brought together the mobs of the Overworld to fight off an invading Piglin army. With armies of Creepers, Zombies, and more at our side, we'll work to push the Piglins back into the Nether and save the day.

What is the Release Date for Minecraft Legends?

The official release date for Minecraft Legends is later this month on April 18. This was officially announced back in January during an Xbox Developer's Direct that outlined the game's PVP.

What Platforms Will Minecraft Legends be Available On?

Microsoft and Mojang Studios are keeping their promise to make Minecraft Legends available to as many players as possible. That's why the game will be launching on Xbox Series X, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PS5 on April 18th. And for those of you with an Xbox Game Pass subscription, Minecraft Legends will be included on day one – so you can start playing right away at no extra cost.

Will Minecraft Legends be Multiplayer?

Similar to most other installments to the world of Minecraft, Minecraft Legends will indeed be multiplayer. When it launches, there will be a unique PvP feature that goes beyond the single-player campaign that puts eight players together to attack and defend each others bases. Team members will be able to share resources and other items among one another to better help each other out during play.

No, Minecraft Legends will not be free to play. In fact, the game comes down to two editions:

• Standard Edition - $39.99 USD - Base game and launcher
• Deluxe Edition - $49.99 USD - Base game, launcher, and Deluxe Skin Pack DLC

While the price might seem a little steep, it's important to remember that this is a completely different experience from what people have come to know about Minecraft. Of course, Mojang dabbled a little in story-first games, like when Telltale Games stepped in to create Minecraft Story Mode. This, however, is something completely new and different, giving Minecraft fans a different reason to play online with one another.
