Blizzard is going to have their hands full this year with the masterpiece that will be Diablo IV. As of today, the game, releasing officially on June 6, has gone gold. This means that the game has officially finished and is now in the printing, packaging, and shipping phase of development.
This was officially confirmed via a Tweet from the official Diablo page. Now, it looks like all the team has to work on now is the updates that were promised in the community update from a few days ago. These were noted as a result of the feedback that developers received after the closed and open beta weekends.
Diablo IV is setting itself up to be one of the biggest releases of the entire year. Both the closed and open beta were already the most successful betas of all time, and that's including the ones available for the masterpiece that is its predecessor, Diablo III.
Not only will the game launch across all current gen and last gen platforms, but it will also be crossplay. That means that on launch, players will be able to play with their friends who are playing on different platforms and run through hundreds of dungeons, side quests, and a vast campaign story.
