Cloud9 TenZ talks all things Valorant

Favorite teammate, strongest Agent and more, TenZ had some interesting things to say during a recent interview.

Canadian Valorant star Tyson “TenZ” Ngo has been on fire lately. His team, Cloud9, were victorious at last week’s EsportsDoug x eUnited Charity Clash, despite two members of a rival roster being caught cheating.

At time of writing, TenZ and his squad are competing in the PAX Arena VALORANT Invitational, where they are set to face Immortals in the first round of bracket play. TenZ is currently the second best performer in the tournament based on average combat score, behind T1’s Victor “Food” Wong.

Following the first day of group stage action, TenZ gave a short post-match interview with top Esports broadcaster, Chris Puckett. The pair discussed a bunch of topics, and it’s definitely worth a listen.

The core Cloud9 team have been experimenting with various fifths for a while now, but seem happy with Daniel “Vice” Kim. TenZ explained “Our chemistry is getting a lot better and we’re working better together”, he referenced Vice’s communication as a key strength.

Conversation quickly turned to Agents. With Viper receiving a heavy buff in the 1.04 patch, Puckett asked whether she would become a potential option for TenZ. “Yeah I was actually planning on picking up Viper” said the Canadian, adding “most teams actually don’t know how to play against a Viper properly”.

The interview concluded with a speed round, in which we learnt that TenZ’ prefers the Phantom to the Vandal and Jett to Raze. He also revealed that Josh “Shinobi” Abastado is his favorite person to play with, and that he thinks Sova is the best Agent in the game, “by far”.

It was cool to hear one of the most promising Valorant talents talk about the game and get some more insight into his team’s structure. Good luck to Cloud9 for the rest of the PAX Arena event and GG TenZ!
