Cloud9 part ways with yay

The superstar leaves just after four months

North American esports organization Cloud9 have announced they have parted ways with their star player Jaccob "yay" Whiteaker after just a short four months of him being on the team.

Cloud9 signed yay on October 17th of last year with hopes of him being a huge factor to their franchised roster. Unfortunately, things haven't worked out and C9 have made the decision to mutually part ways with their star player.

Yay appeared in two officials with Cloud9, one being the Red Bull Home Ground #3 tournament in which they lost to European team FOKUS, and the other being just recently in the VCT LOCK//IN tournament, where they lost to DRX in the second round.

With yay departing the team, Cloud9's roster now is:

  • Nathan "leaf" Orf
  • Erick "Xeppaa" Bach
  • Anthony "vanity" Malaspina
  • Jordan "Zellsis" Montemurro
  • Mateja "qpert" Mijović
  • Matthew "mCe" Elmore (Head Coach)

It is unknown who will replace yay at this time.
