Fortnite pros Clix and Deyy will now represent NRG in competitive as a full Duo.
Two years ago, Cody “Clix” Conrod peaked at nearly 200,000 viewers on Twitch as NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal welcomed him to NRG Esports. Now, he’s done it again!
Fans were left confused earlier in the week when out of the blue, Clix tweeted to say that his contract with NRG had ended and that he was leaving. The org’s Executive Producer, Grady Rains, then went live on stream to “explain the situation”, but appeared to be too emotional and went offline without giving much information at all.
However, the mystery didn’t last for too long. Today, in potentially the most hyped org reveal we’ve seen to date, Clix announced that he has re-signed to NRG.
Straight after his news, Clix played a video showing another recruit, this time brand-new to the roster. Clix’s competitive duo, Desean “Deyy” Hew has also joined the NRG Fortnite team.
The pair have been in good form this season, placing as high as second in Duo Cash Cups, and looking to claim a spot in FNCS Grand Finals during Heats this weekend. Like Clix, Deyy regularly streams his tournament gameplay, and will now probably put an even stronger focus on building his personal brand.
NRG continues to make waves in the Fortnite scene with this latest announcement, having recently flown AussieAntics out from Australia to produce more high-quality content. Aussie is currently streaming from Canada while resolving visa issues, but we’re sure to be treated to some awesome in-person stuff once he arrives in LA.
