Chapter 6 Season 4 of Fortnite! Here's Everything to Know!

Chapter 6 Season 4: Shock ‘N Awesome is here, and it’s packed with new weapons, power-ups, and performance upgrades. From guaranteed Exotic and Mythic loot to powerful Medallions, here’s everything you need to know.

Map Changes

Before you step into the fight, get familiar with the Island’s new POIs:

The Hive is the heart of the infestation. Thick clouds of spores and swarms of bugs make this the most dangerous location on the map. It’s absolutely crawling with insect activity — and we mean that literally. Whether you're grinding for Queen loot or chasing placement, The Hive offers high risk and high reward.

Troops are stationed in the barracks at O.X.R. HQ. Here you’ll find the O.X.R. commanders at the battle ops hub in the main building and an O.X.R. Armory where you can buy weapons and other items with Bars.

Ranger’s Ruin is a cautionary tale. Formerly a bustling weapons lab for the O.X.R., the base was lost to the infestation. Needless to say, it’s rife with quality loot if you're willing to get your hands dirty!

New Weapons

When the bugs start closing in, standard-issue won’t cut it. The O.X.R. is rolling out serious firepower this Season, built specifically to thin the hive and hold your ground. Whether you're clearing nests or clashing with enemy squads, this arsenal has you covered.

Grab O.X.R. weapons like the Leadspitter 3000 Minigun, Sweeper Shotgun, O.X.R. Rifle, Wrecker Revolver, and the Swarmstrike Rocket Launcher — a laser-guided heavy that delivers pinpoint splash damage exactly where you need it.

Coming later this Season, the battle gets even more morphin’ time. Channel your inner Ranger with the Blade Blaster — a sleek, sci-fi energy pistol that can fire rapid shots or charge up for a powerful blast.

Exotic Items

Hit O.X.R. Rank A and unlock access to Bunkers — high-risk zones with high-end rewards. Inside, you’ll find new Exotic-class gear that’s designed to dominate. Each Exotic has a unique twist that rewards aggressive, smart play.

• Eradicator O.X.R. Rifle – Damage increases with every consecutive hit
• Double Trouble – Twin shotguns that can be instantly swapped with no delay
• Shock n’ Slow Shockwave Launcher – Fires Shockwave Grenades that slow all targets mid-air
• Marksman Wrecker Revolver – A faster-firing version with higher headshot multiplier
• Slap Berry Fizz – A Flowberry Fizz variant that also grants the Slap effect

Medallions

Clear out enough of the swarm at certain POIs, and you’ll trigger a Queen fight. Defeat the Queen and you’ll earn a unique Mythic weapon and a Medallion, each offering major gameplay advantages.

• At The Hive, taking down the Queen rewards you with the Mythic Enhanced Wrecker Revolver and the Surge Medallion, which boosts your movement speed and gives a burst of speed whenever you slide.
• At Ranger’s Ruin, eliminating the Queen grants the Mythic Tactical Shotgun and the Springleg Medallion, allowing you to double jump and making you completely immune to fall damage.
• At Demon’s Domain, the Queen drops the Mythic O.X.R. Assault Rifle and the Carapace Medallion, which restores 50 Health on elimination and passively regenerates 3 Shield per second, up to 50 total.

Inside the O.X.R.

Each match, you’ll start at O.X.R. Rank C and level up by eliminating bugs, wiping players, and opening chests. Your rank is shared across your party, and with every promotion, you’ll receive a powerful Drop Pod packed with gear.

These Drop Pods don’t just include weapons—they also come with Super Soldier Boons. Hit Rank A, and you’ll unlock access to O.X.R. Bunkers, where Exotic weapons can be found. Push all the way to S+, and your Drop Pod is guaranteed to include a Mythic.

New BOONS!

Boons can be found in O.X.R. Chests and Hive Sacs around the Island, while others can be purchased from the O.X.R. Armory, found in Drop Pods, or rewarded for completing mid-match objectives (such as clearing the swarm from a POI):

• Agile Aiming Boon: While aiming down sights, your recoil and spread will be reduced and you'll maintain more of your movement speed.
• Extended Magazine Boon: Increases clip size for all your weapons.
• Storm Forecast Boon: The next Storm circle is always revealed to you.
• Super Soldier Ranked Boons (exclusively from O.X.R. Drop Pods):
  • [Super Soldier Boon: Rank B] Reduces Energy consumption when sprinting.
  • [Super Soldier Boon: Rank A] Rank B ability + increases reload speed.
  • [Super Soldier Boon: Rank S] Rank B and A abilities + reduces weapon recoil and spread.
  • [Super Soldier Boon: Rank S+] Rank B, A, and S abilities + increases sprint speed and gives you unlimited Energy.

Bug Enemies

Not all bugs are built the same. As you explore the Island this Season, expect to encounter three distinct types of insect threats—each deadlier than the last.

Swarmers are the most common and the most annoying. These small, fast creepers will surround and overwhelm you if left unchecked.

Bombers tend to guard the nests and key choke points. These larger bugs burrow into the ground, then emerge behind you to launch a toxic goop projectile from range.

Queens are the endgame threat. Buried deep in infested POIs, Queens won’t surface until you’ve cleared enough of their swarm. Once they emerge, they summon reinforcements and attempting devastating body slam attacks.

Sometimes the best way to fight the swarm… is to become the swarm. The new Bug Blaster is a plasma-based weapon that fires explosive projectiles or charges up for a heavy blast. Whether you’re clearing nests or flushing out players, it gets the job done.

Later this Season, you’ll also be able to roll out in the Roly Poly — a giant, rideable bug you can somersault across the map with. It bounces, charges up for speed bursts, and looks absolutely ridiculous. In the best way.

Pilot the Whirlybird

Air superiority finally returns later this Season with the arrival of the Hammerhead Choppa. While the swarm dominates the ground, the O.X.R. takes to the skies — and this aerial beast gives you the upper hand.

The Choppa isn’t just for transport. Its upgraded mechanics allow you to briefly hover mid-air, giving you time to swap seats and lay down fire from multiple angles. It’s perfect for squad rotations, third parties, or just raining down chaos from above.

Shock ‘N Awesome Battle Pass

Level up the Shock ‘N Awesome Battle Pass to knock the socks off the swarm with style!

The Battle Pass has both free and premium rewards you can claim by earning XP in any Fortnite experience. To claim the premium rewards as you earn XP, purchase the Pass for 1,000 V-Bucks or get it through Fortnite Crew, which has all the other Fortnite Passes! Here are the Outfits in the Pass, included as premium rewards:

• UNSC Spartan: Humanity’s first line of defense. (Instantly unlocked after purchasing the Pass or accessing it through Fortnite Crew!)
  • For this Season, non-Battle Pass holders who reach Level 100 will unlock the UNSC Spartan Outfit for free starting August 26.
• Yoo-mi: An idol, on and off the battlefield.
• Agent Patch: He picked the wrong day to give up chewing bamboo.
• Battle Gamer Mae: Press O, X, Right to squish bug.
• Lt. Ripp Slade: Rip through ‘em.
• Onyx Winter: O.X.R’s fierce and fearless general.
• Green Ranger: IT'S MORPHIN TIME!

Power Rangers, Suit Up! Battle Pass holders can also unlock the robo-amalgan Dino Megazord Outfit by completing Quests starting September 16. The Shock ‘N Awesome Battle Pass is available to progress in from August 7 to November 1, 2025 Eastern Time!
