'Ravenov Implications' Main Quest Guide for Outbreak in Black Ops Cold War Zombies

Rendezvous with Ravenov and obtain critical research. Here's how to complete the Main Quest in Outbreak Zombies.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies casts players into Outbreak, an all-new large scale Zombies mode set in the Ural Mountains, with the ever-growing threat of an undead horde. At its core, player's are tasked with one goal - survive; however, the most experienced of Requiem agents are also tasked with obtaining critical intel from Ravenov.

Ravenov Implications serves as the first Main Easter Egg of Outbreak. The rewards for completing it are as follows...

  • Ravenov Implications Dark Ops Challenge (XP & Calling Card)
  • Ending Cinematic Cutscene

Ravenov Implications

Prerequisites

  • To begin the Main Quest, you will need to warp at least two times to reach round 3, use this time to gather loot and supplies. Note that the Beacon can be shot during its warp animation to progress two rounds.
  • This guide will assume that you have enabled subtitles as that is the most optimal way to complete the first step.

Obtain the Beacon Listening Device

Locate the Radio which broadcasts an unknown signal and interact with it to listen to the signal. This will begin a wave of enemies, survive this wave and the radio will then transmit a specific active static noise (see subtitles.)

Next, locate a nearby Amplifier and interact to switch the signal amplification until the active static noise matches the Radio. Repeat this process for a total of three Amplifiers.

Finally, return to the Radio and interact once more to listen to the full signal. Once complete, loot will drop alongside the Beacon Listening Device.

Respond to Maxis

With the Beacon Listening Device collected, complete the objectives of the current Outbreak region to spawn the Beacon. Access the Terminal of the Beacon and select the Respond option. Once complete, you will be warped to the next region.

Obtain and Insert the Microfilm Slides

Each Outbreak region contains a total of four stone Monkey Bombs which can be destroyed to drop loot. Locate the Monkey Bomb which is positioned next to a letter M, then shoot it to collect the Microfilm Slides.

With the Microfilm Slides collected, locate and interact with the Slide Projector to insert the slides and begin a narrative sequence.

Note: There is no Slide Projector on Ruka. If the Microfilm Slides are collected here, you must warp to the next region and insert the slides there.

Locate Ravenov

Once the Microfilm Slides have been inserted into the Slide Projector, the next warp will transition you to the Ruka region. Locate the elevator shaft at the Missile Silos to begin the Operatsiva Inversiya objective.

Once within the Missile Silos, navigate to Silo A, then locate and interact with the computer terminal to lift the lockdown. This will begin a narrative sequence.

Find the Launch Keys

Missile Silo A (Monkey & Essence Trap)

On the bottom floor of Missile Silo A is a dead-end tunnel which contains an Essence Trap, collect it to replace your Tactical Equipment slot.

Next, locate the Aether Monkey which can be found within one of the many air ducts which line the walls of Missile Silo A. Slowly approach the monkey until it is scared away, then slowly retreat until it returns. Throw the Essence Trap on the wall near the vent and then position yourself far from the trap. The monkey will then teleport on to the trap, activate it to capture the monkey.

Finally, interact with the Essence Trap to collect one of three ICBM Launch Keys.

Missile Silo B (Aetherium Canister & Jellyfish)

Locate and interact with the Aetherium Harvesting Unit in Missile Silo B to purge its Aetherium canister. Next, locate and shoot the Aetherium Crystals which line the walls of the silo to drop Aetherium Crystal Chunks. Once 20 chunks have been collected (shared inventory), return to and interact with the Aetherium Harvesting Unit to deposit the Aetherium Crystal Chunks.

Upon depositing all of the required chunks, a wave of enemies will spawn. Eliminate these enemies, then interact with the harvesting unit to collect the Aetherium canister and replace your Field Upgrade.

Navigate to Missile Silo D and locate the large Aether jellyfish. While standing on the staircase near the jellyfish, activate the Aetherium Field Upgrade to enter the jellyfish. Collect one of three ICBM Launch Keys while within the jellyfish.

Missile Silo C (HVT Mimic)

While Missile Silo C is inaccessible, a corpse can be found within the corridor leading to it. Interact with the corpse to spawn Ruzarkon the Twisted. Defeat this HVT Mimic to collect one of three ICBM Launch Keys.

Start the Launch Sequence

A Launch Console can be found within each of the three accessible Missile Silos. The order in which the Launch Keys must be inserted is randomly assigned in each match, you must use the process of trial and error to determine the correct order.

Once all three Launch Keys have been inserted, a 9 minute timer will begin. Locate the Exit Door, found at the top of the stairs in the hub between Missile Silos, and interact with it to leave the facility and enter the Legion boss fight.

Legion (Boss Fight)

To defeat Legion, you must shoot its weak point as indicated by the glowing section of its chest area. Once enough damage has been dealt to the weak point, Legion will reveal three large energy orbs - focus fire on an orb while it is vulnerable, if enough damage is dealt, a third of Legion's health will deplete.

Repeat this process for each of the three energy orbs to defeat Legion.

Once complete, the Ravenov Implications ending cinematic will begin and you have completed the Outbreak Main Quest!
