Benjyfishy Proves He’s Still the Fortnite GOAT

Once a Demon, Always a Demon

Nearly 8 months after quitting Fortnite, Benjyfishy is still better than most of us could ever hope to be.

Having found fame during the early World Cup days, Benjy “Benjyfishy” Fish remained one of Fortnite’s most popular players till the day he retired. Not only was he incredibly successful as a streamer, his competitive career netted the young Brit well over $500k in tournament earnings.

In June 2022, Benjy announced that he was stepping away from Fortnite to pursue Valorant. He’s recently been representing Enterprise Esports in the Valorant Challengers League East and doing very well.

Benjyfishy back on Fortnite

On Tuesday though, fans were treated to a one-time Fortnite return. Chess superstar Alexandra Botez invited Benjy to be part of her team for the $100,000 Tfue Tuesday Zero Build event.

“I’m gonna be honest, I literally haven’t logged onto the game in 8 months” Benjy told an excited Twitch chat upon going live. He’s not even tried the Chapter 4 map once, so you’d expect him to be a little rusty right?

Well, not really. After spending a few minutes warming up in Creative, Benjyfishy reunited with his OG duo MrSavage for some Arena matches. They didn’t have long but wow, what a hit of nostalgia! An impressive 1 vs 2 clutch was the highlight, showing that Benjy can still hold his own in a fight.

The pair squeezed in a couple of Creative 1 vs 1s after. Benjy’s mechanics were looking clean as he hit a particularly spicy clip on Savage, later tweeting the video with the caption “came back and showed I still got the mechs in me”.

Unfortunately, the Tfue Tuesday performance wasn’t quite as strong. Benjy, Botez, and co finished 15th out of 20 teams, but it still made for entertaining viewing.

Will Benjyfishy Come Back to Fortnite?

As fun as it was to see Benjyfishy back on the Battle Bus, don’t get your hopes up for a full return any time soon. “Tomorrow we’ll be back on Valorant…This is all you’re getting for a while” the streamer told his supporters.

Benjy made it clear when he quit that his aim was to go pro in Valorant. He’s been slowly working towards this goal, enjoying the game, and his content has been doing well too, so he’s not likely to stop.

With any luck, we’ll get more of these one-time Fortnite streams over the coming months. And who knows, maybe one day…
