xQc and Turtle Troop saga: A breakdown of the failed VALORANT team signing

A breakdown of what went down between the Juicer and Turtle Troop

As TrackerNetwork reported a month ago, xQc set his intentions in entering the North American VALORANT scene with the signing of the last free agent roster in the North American Challengers leage, Turtle Troop, following the steps of MoistCritikal's and Ludwig's Moist Moguls and Disguised Toast's DSG before them.

However, despite constant interest and the much anticipated team reveal, the xQc's VALORANT team was never announced and here's a breakdown of what we know about the xQc's failed project.

In a recent stream with Subroza, Turtle Troop's Governor was asked about the situation with xQc and how's the negotiations were going, Governor claimed that terms were agreed upon, and all technical details were settled, however, xQc backed off last second and "ghosted" them.

And according to multiple sources, the deal between xQc and Turtle Troop has fallen through and there's no more contact between the two due to xQc's absence during the negotiations.

But in a recent stream, xQc explained the situation further and explained that both parties didn't agree on the vision and future plans. The Canadian streamer also mentioned that his original plan was to sign superstars and insert them into the roster, however, Turtle Troop didn't agree to that and wanted to remain as a full roster. And with that, frustrations were built within both parties and communications lines were cut. Although, xQc apologized in the recent stream and made it clear that he realizes his mistakes and how things were left off and stated that he paid the roster for the "waiting" the team endured the entire time.

Turtle Troop placed last in their group in the North American Challengers league and did not make it to the Mid-Season Face Off, however, the team remains intact and are still looking for an organization to represent during the second split of the competition and other tournaments.
