XDefiant - How to Play the Cleaners Faction

XDefiant is Ubisoft's team up game featuring several games from the developer. The game brings over characters, weapons, and gear from games such as The Division and pits them against Factions from the series in an arena shooter. With The Division making up the Cleaners Faction, here's how to play as the pyro technicians.

Cleaners Faction

The Cleaners are known for their relation to fire and pyrotechnics. In XDefiant, they carry their passion for the flame with them via flamethrowers, firebombs, and incendiary drones. They hit hard and make life difficult for anyone who gets close to them.

Cleaner Abilities

Choosing to play as a Cleaner means you're going to be doing one of two things. The first is getting up close and personal with the enemy. While the second is for those who prefer to stay back and fight using heavy weapons and your trusty drone. Your starting two abilities are the following:

• Incinerator Drone. A napalm-delivering drone burns everything in its flight path.
• Firebomb. Detonate a Molotov cocktail, causing explosive damage and igniting the area.

The Incinerator Drone is a flying machine that shoots fire in a straight line. Once activated, you'll toss it ahead of you and it'll zoom forward spraying a line of fire at everything in its path. It's useful for causing a distraction or burning enemies who are in your way.

Firebomb is harmful to enemies but not to you. You'll toss a Molotov cocktail at your feet, igniting the ground around you in a specific radius. Players who step into it will catch fire and take damage. It's a handy trick when you know you're going to be around a lot of enemies or are capturing a zone.

As you clean up the map of enemies, you'll build up your Ultra ability called the Purifier. You'll wield a flamethrower and spread flames in front of you burning all that stand against you. It's rather handy for clearing out capture points.

You'll also gain the Passive Trait Incendiary Rounds. This adds burn damage to all of your ammunition but comes at a cost as it decreases the range of your weapon.

Cleaner Recommended Weapons

With Cleaners getting a great buff in burn damage, this hinders them when it comes to focusing on long-ranged weapons. For that reason, choosing close-range or mid-range weapons such as assault rifles, shotguns, and LMGs are a great choice.
