What is ACS in Valorant and How Does It Work

What does ACS mean anyway?

Valorant is a competitive shooter game with ten players vying for victory. And if you're the competitive type of player who wants to go up the ranks, studying your stats may be a good place to start. You can learn a lot about your performance by looking at your match statistics, in addition to watching the replay. One among these stats include the ACS or the Average Combat Score that appears at the end of your match alongside the KDA.

But what does it mean anyway? Read on to find out what does Average Combat Score mean and how it is calculated.

What does ACS mean in Valorant

After each match, players are given a breakdown of numerical stats showcasing how they fared in a game. One of which is the Average Combat Score or ACS. Unlike KDA, the ACS weighs in more factors which may help to explain why certain players with the highest kill total don't always end up as the game's most valuable player. Overall, Average Combat Score is a cumulative score that increases as you rack up kills, assists, and damage.

How is your ACS in Valorant calculated

Damage: Each damage you deal adds up one point.

Kills based on enemies alive (150/130/110/90/70): For each kill, you receive a certain amount of points depending on the number of enemies alive. As a rule of thumb, the more enemies there is, the higher points you get. Therefore, aiming for the first blood is one of the best things you can do if you want a higher combat score.

Multikills: You’re certainly rewarded for every multi-kill you receive. The more you are able to kill in a single round, the more rewards you will gain beyond damage and kill points. For every addition kill, you can receive 50 points. That said, if you’re good enough to score an ace, that’s an additional 200 points for you.

Non-damaging assists: Lastly, each non-damaging assist grants 25 points. If your teammate is able to kill an opponent that you’ve blinded, stunned, revealed or after healing them, that’s an additional point for you. So, aside from shooting your opponents, make sure to utilize your abilities and use them to your advantage.

Combat score or called as the round score is tallied at the end of each round.  Your round score per round can be seen by clicking on the “Timelines” tab in your match result, while your overall combat score will appear just below your KDA.

Now, how is the ACS or Average Combat Score calculated? Determine your overall combat score (indicated just below your KDA) and divide it into the number of rounds you’ve played. For example, if you’re able to accumulate 8,088 points throughout the course of a 14-12 (26-round) match, your ACS is going to be 311.

At the end of the match, the one who’s on top of the scoreboard sometimes isn’t going to be the MVP but the player who gets the highest ACS.

Does the Average Score in Valorant affect your Rank?

Average Combat Score displays your overall performance inside the match and shows how well you did in your last game but your ACS barely merely affects your rank and is just a stat, according to Riot EvrMoar.
