Valorant Audio Bug in 7.07 Patch: How To Fix

Turn on HRTF in settings!

Valorant 7.07 patch has gone live across the globe but it seems like many players are facing a weird audio bug after the latest update. A Reddit user reported a terrible audio issue in Valorant, where he heard his own footsteps behind him, his weapon-switch sound alternated between his left and right ear, and gunshots sounded like they were coming from far away.

If you're encountering this audio bug while playing Valorant, here's a proven method to fix this issue.

How to Solve Audio Bug in Valorant 7.07

Valorant HRTF Option

The official method to fix audio bug in Valorant 7.07 is to disable these options: Dolby Atmos, Windows Sonic, in your headphone software. Apart from this, it's recommended to turn on HRTF option in Valorant settings under the Audio tab.

In the 7.07 patch notes, Riot Games explained that to simulate surround sound on headphones, we offer an HRTF setting. We do not recommend combining the HRTF setting in game with other surround sound virtualization software at the same time since this will result in double processing.

In fact, Valorant devs fixed a bug in patch 7.06 that allowed the game to output surround sound when certain conditions were met, but the surround mix was untested and unsupported. Therefore, VALORANT currently only supports stereo and mono sound output.

However, it's worth noting that the other surround sound virtualization software cannot derive surround sound information from the stereo mix.
