The Redfall Interactive Game Isn’t Another Demo but It’s Just as Good

Redfall is nearly here and ahead of its release, Bethesda is giving players a firsthand look at the upcoming shooter. While the interactive game isn't exactly a demo of the game itself, it is adjacent to it. However, the game does feature new footage of Redfall and lets you play as one of the four main characters in the story.

Take Back Redfall: Interactive Adventure is a narrative game that has you play as character Layla Ellison. Instead of running through the open map of Redfall, Massachusetts, you'll choose from a selection of text options to advance the story. Each choice leads to a different outcome and in many cases even includes a brand new never before seen video showing off more of Redfall.

Who is Layla Ellison

As for Layla, she's a telekinetic biomedical engineering student at Redfall Technical University. Previous videos have showcased her skills but the interactive game provides a more in-depth look at what she's capable of via unlisted videos posted to Bethesda's YouTube channel.

One scenario involves her dealing with getting around death mist. You're left with a few choices on how to deal with it, but by opting to jump over it you'll see the video titled Up and Over. Using her telekinesis, Layla can summon two magical elevators and uses them to bounce from one to the other, thus avoiding the mist altogether.

The World of Redfall

The interactive game shows off more of the world as well. While you're mainly responding to textboxes and seeing new photos of the game, every so often a video will come up showcasing the massive world of Redfall. One such moment featured a boss battle with the ghastly Wailing Shadow.

Take Back Redfall has a lot to offer and there are multiple options to choose from. You'll just have to play it yourself to see how your story ends.

What We Know About Redfall

Redfall is an open world first-person shooter being developed Arkane Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks. The game was first announced during the Xbox and Bethesda E3 2021 showcase. The story invovles the entire town of Redfall being taken over by vampires. You play as one of four main characters including cryptozoologist Devinder Crousley, combat engineer Remi de la Rosa, ex-military sniper Jacob Boyer, and of course Layla Ellison. They must work together in an attempt to overcome the undead and escape the island.

Redfall Release Date

Redfall is scheduled to release on May 2, 2023 for Xbox Series X/S and Steam.
