Playstation Leaks Hawkmoon Trailer Early

The Fabled Handcannon is not back just yet

We finally have an official Hawkmoon trailer preview despite not having a solid release date. In a post on the company's YouTube page, Playstation accidentally flipped the switch on the preview for Hawkmoon.

The best part of the preview comes with the reveal of Hawkmoon's new perk, Paracausal Shot. This perk channels final blows and precision hits into stacks of "Paracasual Precision". Once the gun reaches its final round in a magazine it releases bonus damage based on the stacks of "Paracasual Precision."

So far I am happy to see the bonus damage perk being translated into a new reliable form. However, combining the perk with the fact that Hawkmoon is set to be a 140 Handcannon with an 8 bullet magazine feels underwhelming.

When compared to other Handcannons in the current meta and other 140s such as Ace of Spades, I do not see Hawkmoon winning as a favored weapon by players. Sure it makes cool sounds and looks amazing but if at most it can kill only three guardians per magazine, if you are able to land all precision shots, I do not see this being heavily utilized.

Hawkmoon was one of my favorite weapons in Destiny 1 so I will hold off on any final judgements until it is fully released. Most exotics have second perks that do go unnoticed until inspected, so maybe there is still more in store for Hawkmoon.

What did you think of the return of Hawkmoon? Let me know in the comments or @Suttledge on Twitter.
