New Bloodhunt Update Introduces New Content And Balancing Improvements

A new weapon with a unique ability, medals, bots adjustments, and more in the first update for 2023!

Last month Sharkmob released a significant update to end 2022 that introduced a new Archetype, the Warden.

Today, we received the first big update for this year. One that introduces a new weapon with a fresh mechanic: The Hunting Rifle. A new single-action rifle that is not as powerful as a sniper rifle but will make the wounded enemy bleed over time and will grant the ability to track wounded players by the weapon.

The Hunting Rifle has a lower rate of fire. Moreover, it only has an iron sight. So it will only be highly efficient in close to medium ranges.

There is also a new in-game Medals system. There are initially 23 medals across seven categories, such as Killstreak Medals, Match Placement Medals, and others.

This new system will make matches more challenging and rewarding. There are also different rules depending on which game mode you are playing. For example, a medal that is rewarded after rapidly killing four players within a brief time in TDM and a Solo game mode will be awarded for both, but in TDM, you will not have the downed state.

Another new feature that celebrates achievements during gameplay is the Crosshair Notifications. Those small messages will pop up near your crosshair and let you know about the more impressive actions you just achieved.

Here is the full list of Crosshair Notifications and triggers:

  • Elimination, triggers by killing a player
  • Bloodhunt takedown, triggers by downing a bloodhunted player in BR
  • Assist, triggers by assisting a takedown or kill
  • Headshot, triggers by landing final shot kills in TDM or final headshot takedowns in BR
  • Slide shot, triggers by landing final shot kills in TDM or final headshot takedowns in BR
  • Aerial shot, triggers by landing final shot kills in TDM or final headshot takedowns in BR
  • Diablerie, triggers by diablerizing a player in BR

Sharkmob also introduces improvements to Bots behavior. For example, they will behave smarter, not go to battles they cannot win based on current gear, and will be a bit more deadly.

Also, there's more balancing to weapons based on player feedback and gameplay data, changes to the TDM game mode, allowing you to get into the action quicker by respawning with the Tommy Gun and Marksman Rifle (among other improvements), and many bugs are now fixed.

You can check out more details about this update, including the complete list of Medals and bug fixes in the official blog post.
