Internet superstars Karl Jacobs and AustinShow are the newest members of Misfits Gaming, with Jacobs receiving an ownership stake in the company.
Florida-based Esports and entertainment organization Misfits Gaming is constantly looking for ways to innovate in the space. Recently, it launched a $20 million Creator Fund to help creators of all shapes and sizes bring unique and ambitious projects to life.
In an announcement video on Thursday, Misfits revealed the two latest personalities to join the team.
Known to many as a frontman in MrBeast’s YouTube videos, Karl Jacobs has also built a strong community of his own and become one of the most recognizable faces on social media. As Creative Director at Misfits, he will work on exciting content and jointly-owned IP for a variety of existing and future channels.
“After weighing many opportunities, joining Misfits Gaming was the exact right move for me. Ben’s given me the freedom to both act as Misfits’ creative director, allowing me to help shape the voice and content strategy, and as a content creator, allowing me to bring my most ambitious ideas to life with awesome collaborations and beautiful production,” explained Jacobs in a press release.
Talking about his ownership deal, Karl added “In accepting this new partnership, it was essential for me to have an ownership stake, so my contributions are both creatively fulfilling and invest me alongside the business’ success for the long-term. With ownership I’m given the ability to help make crucial decisions to really put my voice and vision into the company and I’m super excited for the journey”.
This basically means Misfits is gonna power a lot of the ideas n concepts both me and Austin have wanted to do for a while now. Love working w him on everything and anything and I can’t wait for you guys to see what all we have planned 🤩🫣🤫

AustinShow is a multi-talented streamer and YouTuber who only recently parted ways with 100 Thieves. Austin will use Misfit’s resources to produce a selection of high-production-value projects. This includes the revival of popular series “Name Your Price” alongside co-host Will Neff.

Speaking on his new role, AustinShow said “In Misfits, I have a supportive partner who supports my craft and empowers my creative vision. Having the opportunity to re-launch a bigger, better version of Name Your Price this year is just the beginning, as we embark on an ambitious plan to create more great series and streams together”.
It’s encouraging to see more orgs giving creators shared ownership. Up until now, very few esports teams have been sustainable but this is a fantastic way to tie the success of a team to the personalities within.
