Is Kevin Durant Joining The Ranks In Call of Duty Modern Warfare II and Warzone 2.0?

What are your thoughts on what's next for the first-person shooter?

There is a very good chance that he will be, according to a Tweet from the official Call of Duty account. Fans have been quick to make the connection after the video included the handle Easy Money Sniper, which is Durant's Instagram handle. Additionally, a placeholder video with the file name KD_Teaser was uploaded to the Call of Duty Facebook page, suggesting that it's the Phoenix Suns player.

The new Operator is set to launch in Modern Warfare II, Warzone 2, and COD Mobile in May, with Activision confirming the news in a recent announcement. Durant, who is known to be a big-time video game player and a fan of Call of Duty, may not be the first athlete to appear as an Operator. To celebrate the World Cup last year, Activision added famous footballers Messi, Paul Pogba, and Neymar to the series for a limited time.

In an interview with David Letterman in 2022, Durant revealed that he wants to create his own Call of Duty esports team one day. It seems that the basketball star's love for the game has translated into his virtual persona.

While Call of Duty game sales have continued to grow in the latest quarter, Activision Blizzard's shareholders were recently dealt a blow when the UK announced that it would not allow Microsoft's purchase of the company to go through. Microsoft and Activision Blizzard plan to appeal the decision.

Despite the setback, Activision Blizzard has confirmed that it will release a new main installment Call of Duty game this year, although the title has yet to be announced. Fans of the franchise will have to wait and see what other surprises Activision has in store for them.
