If you're currently playing Valorant, then there's a chance that you've either personally experienced or heard of the Hot Mic Bug. This is an in-game bug that essentially toggles the puch-to-talk feature on and off at random times. As a result, teammates who are under the impression that they are in a private conversation, are unknowingly speaking to their entire team.
The only happened after Riot Games rolled out a patch with update 6.11. The patch was meant to fix the issues that players were having with a couple of characters. Unfortunately, it has snowballed into both a very funny and and very embarrassing issue for players. Players have heard others talking to their Twitch chats and even badmouthing other players, all under the impression that they could not be heard.
How Do You Fix the Hot Mic Bug in Valorant?
As of this moment, there is no fix for this bug. The only workaround that players have been able to identify include permanently muting yourself so that the toggle cannot happen. Even then, the only way to know whether or not you have been affected is to see whether the mic icon on the left-hand side of the screen turns on when you speak.
While this is definitely an amusing feature for some players, others find that they just need to stay quiet in order to avoid heckling from teammates. Regardless, this will certainly be resolved once the next patch rolls out but, who knows? Maybe Riot Games will simply add the Hot Mic bug as an actual, in-game feature for those who genuinely enjoyed it.
