Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3 has officially begun, bringing with it a host of new competitive updates that will transform the way tournaments are played this summer. From changes to Ranked Cups, to the return of Divisional Cups, to the road to FNCS Major 3, there's plenty for competitive players to explore.

One of the most significant changes this season is the comprehensive overhaul of the Ranked Cup system. Previously, Ranked Cups were split by rank, meaning players could only queue with teammates in the same tier. This often resulted in long matchmaking times, players being isolated from their friends as they ranked up faster, and awkward resets at the top levels. Now, however, all rank tiers will queue for the same matches. Whether you're Gold or Unreal, you can team up with anyone. However, the leaderboard remains tier-specific, so Gold players will still be ranked against other Golds, Unreal players against other Unreals, and so on. If you earn at least 50 points in any Ranked Cup this season, you will unlock the exclusive 'Ranker's Utopia' umbrella.

Outside of Ranked Cups, there is a packed tournament schedule. Performance Evaluations are returning to Europe and North America Central. These events provide Epic with valuable feedback on game balance and server health, and are exclusive to Division 1 players, making them a top-level proving ground.

Console players have more reason than ever to join the queue. The Console Victory Cash Cups are back, offering cash prizes for every Victory Royale earned in Round 2. Whether you’re on PlayStation, Xbox or Nintendo Switch, this Duos event is your chance to turn victories into real-world rewards.
PlayStation users will also have their own dedicated Solo PlayStation Cup in late July. With qualifiers on 24 July and finals on 26 July, this is another opportunity for console players to win cash prizes and take centre stage.

The FNCS Divisional Cups are also set to make a strong return. Starting on 18 June, players will compete in two Divisional Cups this season. Based on past performance, players will be placed in Division 1, 2 or 3. Those who aren’t already in a division but have achieved Gold rank or above in Ranked mode will start in Division 3. The best players in Division 1 will win prize money, while the top performers in Divisions 2 and 3 will earn a promotion.
Here’s the schedule:
- First Divisional Cup
- Qualifying Rounds: Wednesday, June 18, and Thursday, June 19, for all Divisions
- Finals: Saturday, June 21
- Second Divisional Cup
- Qualifying Rounds: Wednesday, June 25, and Thursday, June 26, for all Divisions
- Finals: Saturday, June 28
