Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2: Tournaments Guide & Competitive News!

Chapter 6 Season 2 brings an updated Compete tab, new leaderboard visuals, and Divisional Cup changes.

Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2 is Here! The new season brings an updated Competitive tab, making it easier than ever to track upcoming tournaments, view available rewards, and check your ranking among other competitors. Plus, you can now bookmark tournaments you’re interested in, ensuring you never miss out on the action!

Overhauled Compete Tab in Fortnite Battle Royale

By default, the updated Compete tab shows you all the competitive offerings happening in the current week. In the top-right corner, you can select filters to narrow down the events you see. You can select:

  • Gamemode: Whether you want to see Battle Royale events, Zero Build events, or both.
  • Team Size: Whether you want to see Solo, Duos, Trios, or Squads events — or any combination of these!
  • Region: Whether you want to see events in the NA-East, NA-Central, NA-West, Oceania, Asia, Middle East, Europe, or Brazil server region.
  • Tournament Type: Whether you want to see FNCS events, Cash Cups, Victory Cups, Ranked Cups, Shop Cups, Performance Evaluations, or other Cups — or any combination of these!
  • Eligibility: Whether you want to see events you're eligible for, ineligible for, or both. (An example of an event you’re ineligible for is an event you haven’t met the rank or level requirement for.)

The weekly view conveniently displays your local region’s start time for each event.

Monthly View

From the weekly view, simply scroll down to access the monthly view. Here, you’ll get an overview of the events happening each day for the selected month, including:

  • Cash Cups
  • Shop Cups
  • FNCS Events
  • Victory Cups
  • Performance Evaluations
  • Ranked Cups

Your selected filters will apply, ensuring you only see events relevant to your preferences and region. For example, if you're interested in all Cash Cups, the Cash Cup symbol will be highlighted on every day one is scheduled. But if you only want to see Solo Battle Royale Cash Cups, the symbol will only appear on days featuring that specific event.

Clicking on a day will take you back to the weekly view, where you can see all events for that day and scroll through upcoming or past days. Your filters remain active, so you’ll always see only the events that match your preferences.

Planning ahead? You can switch months in the monthly view, but keep in mind that events not yet announced by Epic won’t appear. So, if a future month looks empty, that doesn’t mean events won’t be added later!

Event Pages

Each event has its own dedicated page where you can quickly find key details, including:

  • Start Time: View the event’s start time in your local region.
  • Schedule: If applicable, see when each session and round will take place.
  • Rewards: Check the cash and/or cosmetic rewards based on final placement. For example see the cash prize for first place, second place, and beyond.
  • Event Details: Scroll down to read a full description of the event.
  • Scoring Breakdown: Find out how points are awarded.
For example, see how many points you’ll earn for a Victory Royale, 2nd place, and other placements.

This layout ensures you have all the essential information at a glance, helping you prepare for each event with ease!

From the event page, you can bookmark the event so you’ll be notified of it in Fortnite starting 24 hours before it starts. This notification takes the form of a countdown and you’ll see it in the Lobby of any Ranked experience.

Event Leaderboards

Leaderboards have always been part of the Compete tab, but now they come with a sleek new look! If you're new to Competitive, here’s a quick rundown of how they work.

How Leaderboards Work

You can access an event’s leaderboard from its event page. It shows:

  • The points threshold needed to qualify for rewards or advance to the next round.
  • The current rankings of players or teams in your region.
  • How many matches each competitor has played.
  • Their total points so far.

How Qualification Works

Winners are usually determined by the top point-earning players in each region when a round ends.

For example: If only the top 50 squads in NA-East advance to the next round, the required points to qualify will constantly change based on how many points the top 50 teams accumulate. That’s why keeping an eye on the threshold is important!

Clicking on an opponent (whether an individual or a team) will reveal details like:

  • Number of Victory Royales
  • Average eliminations per match
  • Average match placement
  • Total points
  • Points from eliminations
  • Points from placement

Privacy Options

Players who prefer anonymity can turn off "Public Game Stats" in the Gameplay Privacy section of their settings. Those who opt out will appear as “Mystery Competitor” on the leaderboard.

Chapter 6 Season 2 Tournament Updates

The Compete tab is set with Chapter 6 Season 2 events, ready for you to explore and bookmark as soon as downtime for v34.00 ends!

For this season, the formats, schedule, and prizing will remain the same as in Chapter 6 Season 1.

Divisional Cups Update

  • Fortnite made a small adjustment to Divisional Cups:
  • Players in Division 1 who reach a Major’s Group Stage or Finals will remain in Division 1.
  • The remaining Division 1 slots (600 total) will be filled based on the best results from Division 1 weekly events or Play-In.
  • Division 2 to Division 1 promotions have doubled in each region.
  • Players who were in Division 2 last season or relegated from Division 1 will start in Division 2.
  • Division 3 promotions remain unchanged.

More Events Coming Soon

Not every Chapter 6 Season 2 event will be visible on the calendar at launch. Stay tuned to the Compete tab and our social channels for new event announcements!

Competitive Fortnite FAQ

  • What version of Siphon will be in Chapter 6 Season 2 tournaments?

Like last Season, the version of Siphon in C6S2 tournaments will be 75 Health over 5 seconds. This includes FNCS Major 2.

  • Can I compete in multiple server regions this Season?

For non-FNCS events, players can compete in any region they want. For FNCS Major 2, players are only eligible to participate in one region for the entire Major. This means once you participate in the Play-In in a particular region, you’re locked to that region for the Group Stage, Last Chance Qualifier (if applicable), and Major Finals.
