FNATIC Win Masters Tokyo After Grand Finals Win Over Evil Geniuses

FNATIC do it again!

FNATIC have become the victors of Masters Tokyo after a clean 3-0 sweep versus Evil Geniuses in the Grand Finals. Here's how they did it.

The first map in this best of five series was Lotus. Evil Geniuses won the first round, but then FNATIC bounced back well and won the next four rounds, now going up 4-1. However, EG then closed the first half by winning five out of seven rounds to tie the game at 6-6 at the half. The second half was all FNATIC dominance, as they won seven out of nine rounds to win the game. The final score was 13-8.

The second map was Split. FNATIC this time around had a very strong first half, winning eight out of tweleve rounds to lead 8-4 at halftime. EG then won five straight rounds to open the second half and now led 9-8. FNATIC then stormed ahead and won five out of the next seven rounds to win the game. The final score was 13-11.

With FNATIC now leading 2-0, this third map, Bind, was a crucial one for Evil Geniuses. FNATIC again started off well, winning the first two rounds of the game. However, EG had other plans and stormed ahead, wining eight of the next ten rounds, to lead with a score of 8-4 at halftime. EG initially continued the good performance into the second half, winning the first two rounds and now going up 10-4. However, this strong FNATIC team then won eight of the next ten rounds to force overtime. They then won the two rounds in OT to win the game. What a comeback and strong performance from them. The final score was 14-12.

Leading FNATIC was Derke and Alfajer. The former had a KDA of 65-52-13 and an ACS of 267 while the latter had a KDA of 65-42-12 and an ACS of 246. Amazing stuff from both players and the rest of the FNATIC team. On the other side, leading EG was Demon1, who had a KDA of 55-52-2 and an ACS of 199.

FNATIC take home $350,000 with the win, now becoming the most earned organization in VALORANT, with a total of $914,634 in earnings. The win also gives the EMEA region 5 slots at the upcoming VCT Champions tournament in August. Although EG lost the big matchup, they still took home $200,000 in prize money and defied everyone's expecations.
