Everything You Need to Know About Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II Season 03

Are you ready for what's coming to Modern Warfare II?

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II Season 03 arrives with a squad-based expansion of Resurgence to new locales, as well as a special launch event offering limited-time Weapon Blueprints and Operator Skins. The update, which will bring major additions to DMZ, is set to transform Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 in a significant way. Raven Software will reintroduce Plunder and several Resurgence modes to take place on Al Mazrah for all other Warzone modes.

During Season 03, Massive Resurgence will be featured as part of weekly Playlist updates. The seasonal update will also include a new Gulag, returning features, and Blacksite, the Redeploy Drones in Al Mazrah, among many, many other additions.

We listed everything that players can expect from this season below:

What is Massive Resurgence in Modern Warfare II Season 03?

Massive Resurgence will utilize the entire Al Mazrah map, allowing up to 150 players to compete against each other in specific squad sizes such as Quads or Trios. With action spread across the map, players can expect intense gameplay, particularly during the final circle collapses when multiple squads are still at full strength.

Players who are familiar with Resurgence and the regular Al Mazrah Battle Royale can apply their previous strategies and advice to the new mode. Sticking together as a full squad and eliminating all enemy team stragglers will increase your chances of winning.

What is the New Gulag in Modern Warfare II Season 03?

Season 03 promises to offer gamers an opportunity to test their skills in a new 1v1 Gulag, which will be available to Standard Battle Royale players. Those who get eliminated during the early stages of a Battle Royale will be forced to fight for survival in a new arena.

One of the highlights of this update is the new map, Blacksite. This rectangular, asymmetrical map boasts several interior spaces and long external routes, making it ideal for long-distance weaponry. The west portion of the map features a large corridor that connects the two spawn areas, and it's a prime spot for players to throw equipment at the start of a duel. For close-quarters combat, players can take advantage of the various buildings on the map, using doorways and other openings to gain an edge over their opponents.

Blacksite will also be featured in Gunfight, the returning 2v2 Multiplayer mode. This means that players can take a break from the Battle Royale action and practice on this map using different loadouts.

What's New in Modern Warfare II Season 03?

Call of Duty Modern Warfare II Season 03 is set to bring a range of new features to Warzone 2.0, including the highly-anticipated arrival of Redeploy Drones in the Battle Royale mode. Starting April 13, players will be able to use these drones to travel quickly across Al Mazrah, with the caveat that they will be exposed to enemy gunfire.

The Redeploy Drones will be placed at different locations in Al Mazrah for each match, providing quick access to various points of interest, and they are expected to become a key part of survival tactics, especially when it comes to escaping the circle collapse.

In addition to the Redeploy Drones, Season 03 will also introduce Perk Packs, which can be found in Supply Boxes or purchased at a Buy Station. These Perk Packs provide passive benefits to Operators that are usually only available towards the middle or end of matches.

Players are encouraged to take advantage of these Perk Packs and use them to their advantage. The Vanguard pack, for example, offers a mix of movement, defensive, and tactical benefits, while the Recon pack is designed for Operators who value intel above all else. The Specter pack, on the other hand, is a great choice for stealthy players.

Perk Packs are not just for Perkless Operators, however; players who have a Loadout with Overkill should consider picking up another Perk Pack to fill the additional base Perk slot. With so many exciting new features on the way, players are sure to be eager to dive into Call of Duty Modern Warfare II Season 03 and experience all that it has to offer.

What is the WSOW Open Playlist in Modern Warfare II Season 03?

One of the highlights of Season 03 is the World Series of Warzone (WSOW), a limited-time event that will feature an open playlist from April 27th to April 30th. This special playlist will challenge Operators to battle it out in a high-stakes competition that promises to be thrilling and action-packed. The fillowing image shows off the official competition format.

What is the Trophy Hunt Event in Modern Warfare II Season 03?

During the Trophy Hunt event, Operators will have to collect trophies that are small coins branded with a gold scorpion. These trophies will be dropped by enemy Operators in matches and can be collected in different modes.

In the Modern Warfare II multiplayer, every unique enemy will drop one trophy, and in non-round-based modes, it must be picked up to be banked. On the other hand, in round-based modes such as Search & Destroy, eliminating a unique enemy Operator will grant one banked trophy.

In Warzone 2.0 Battle Royale / Resurgence / Plunder and Warzone 2.0 DMZ, both enemy Operators and AI Combatants will drop trophies, and trophies will be lost upon death. Operators can win the match or bank the trophies at a Buy Station.

Once enough trophies are earned, players can exchange them for different rewards in the Event section of the main menu. Rewards include Calling Cards, Double XP Tokens, and two Weapon Blueprints that are permanent. The first Weapon Blueprint is the "Nightsting" Assault Rifle, which is a Primary Weapon based on the popular TAQ-56 weapon platform. The second Assault Rifle blueprint is the "Venom Strike," based on the special DMZ reward weapon platform and built for quick handling and multi-combatant engagements. These Weapon Blueprints are designed for night operations and can be used on the new Oilfields map in Modern Warfare II Multiplayer.

Moreover, there are two completion rewards for this event in the form of Operator Skins. Collecting 10 items will reward Operators with an Operator Skin, and collecting all 15 items will grant another Operator Skin. Operators should note that any unspent Tokens will be automatically converted to XP at the end of the event, which is scheduled for the launch of Season 03 Reloaded in May.

What is Plunder in Modern Warfare II Season 03?

Plunder is a squad-based, respawn-enabled mode where Cash is king. The squad that collects the most Cash after a set time limit, including an overtime period once a squad hits $1 million in Cash, wins the match.

During Plunder 2.0, players can eliminate enemies, complete contracts, partake in events, and clear out Strongholds and Blacksites to earn Cash. Operators can choose to hold their Cash, deposit it by using a Cash Deposit Helipad somewhere on the map, or procure and use a Cash Deposit Balloon for mobile transactions. Cash can also be used at Buy Stations to purchase valuable items like Cash Deposit Balloons, Killstreaks, powerful weapons, and other new rewards.

Plunder 2.0 features a few changes to the in-match event system, new Buy Station items, and permanent rewards. Multiple events can happen in a single match, including Blood Money, Cannon Fodder, Heat, Contractor, Money Siphon, and Choke Hold.

New additions to the Buy Station include the Credit Card, Life Insurance, and Angel Investor. Additionally, Plunder offers nine unique rewards at its launch for completing challenges, including a Vehicle Camo and Calling Cards.
