Bungie Just Released Their Biggest Look Into 'Beyond Light' Loot Yet

Bungie showcases ten new exotics to get you beyond hype

In what I find to be quite a shock, Bungie has just announced a whole slew of new exotics for players to get excited about this November.

Not leaving much to the imagination, Bungie has unveiled ten new exotics ranging from a sniper rifle that calls down Thor like lightning to smite your enemies to the return of No Time To Explain.

Here’s my review of each one:

No Time To Explain -  With the return of this infamous pulse rifle from Destiny 1, players can expect a new twist on an old favorite. Utilizing the power of Stasis precision hits will not only refill the guns magazine but will also call upon a different timeline to fire bullets onto your enemies.

Cloudstrike - This is the first new exotic we get a look at in the trailer. Bungie states the gun will “ generate lightning bolts at the target location” upon precision kills with a full storm forming when you land multiple precision kills. We see this take effect in the trailer when there is a triple kill farmed off of one bullet, I could not tell if that was from a stacked effect or just one kill leaving me with a few more questions.

The Lament - In what is the closest thing we now have to a Gears Of War style weapon The Lament features a chainsaw edge that will rev up when you are blocking fire. Unleash this on enemy foes and it will shred through shields while healing your own health. Someone at Bungie was clearly listening to Baby Metal when they made this weapon.

Salvation’s Grip - This weapon reminds me of the Plasma Launcher found in Halo Reach combined with blizzard. With each projectile launched you will freeze nearby enemies and the longer you charge up the weapon, the more that will fire.

Icefall Mantle - This new arm exotic will transform the Titan Barricade into a mobile overshield. While Bungie specifies that it will absorb damage from oncoming fire it does leave me wondering if damage from weapons like Thorn will continue on the health bar if place prior to the overshield being activated.

Precious Scars - This exotic helmet for Titans might be the closest thing we see to the strength of self rez from Warlocks in Destiny 1. Upon being revived Titans will grant an overshield to themselves and allies. In the trailer we see a tether mechanic to a full three man fireteam which has me questioning how strong the shield will be and what distance you can be from your teammates.

Mask Of Bakris - I am not going to lie, this is my favorite from all the announcements. What is already being pegged as the “Darth Vader Helmet” on Twitter is an exotic helmet that gives Hunters one of their best abilities back, Blink Shift. Shift allows Hunters to turn their Dodge ability into a long range phase that will also cloak them during use. TL; DR Blink is back baby!

Arthrys’s Embrace - While I am still trying to not pronounce this new Exotic Gauntlet as Arthritis Embrace it does have a pretty cool trick up its sleeve. While equipped the weighted knife (Bottom Tree Solar Class) will gain a second ricochet movement. The knife has always been replenished upon precision kills but this gauntlet will allow for increased damage and stagger when you are fortunate enough to land multiple hits quickly.

Dawn Chorus - Dawn Warlocks have a new tool to sing about with this new Helmet as it will be adding increased damage and a burn effect on contact. The best part of this new helmet will be how burn damage will refill melee energy each time you happen to singe a target.

Necrotic Grip - And last, what is probably the most feared exotic to be announced is the Necrotic Grip Gauntlets for Warlocks. Melee attacks charged with this exotic will apply a Thorn like effect and unleash a poisonous cloud onto enemies within an immediate radius upon a final blow. I am staying skeptical on whether this effect will only take effect from the player’s position or will a celestial fire be able to trigger this effect from a lengthy distance?
