Bungie Tunes Destiny 2 PC Controls To Prepare For Crossplay

Mouse and Keyboard Players Get Nerfed To Match Controllers

As exciting as a topic Crossplay can be, there are always going to be hesitations and debates surrounding the implementation of this long-awaited feature.

Today Bungie announced that with Season 13, will come a large update to how Destiny 2 will play on PC. For these weapon types specifically, mouse and keyboard players will now have their recoil adjusted to match that of a controller player going from a 40% difference to 20%:

  • Auto Rifle
  • Scout Rifle
  • Pulse Rifle
  • Submachine Gun
  • Hand Cannon
  • Machine Gun

As of right now it seems that there will be no exceptions for any exotics on this list and already there are causes for concern amongst the community.

Bungie is citing that despite the balance this will bring between users, this behavior change is being added to also make stats like Handling and Stability matter more for M+K users. I can completely understand Bungie wanting to make all stats matter equally across every platform, as it is a big difference on console vs PC when using a weapon such as an Auto Rifle.

In a thread on Twitter, Assistant Game Director Joe Blackburn also stated that they will continue to monitor Stability and Handling as they hope to see these stats matter more but will also “be looking at data on usage to insure we didn't go too far.” Blackburn also stated that they will be looking at Mod/Perk/Weapon usage to evaluate how this performs live.

There is no doubt this will shake the Crucible up a ton this next season.
