FUT Esports and NAVI Keep the Dream Going in VCT EMEA PLAYOFFS

NAVI and FUT keep the dream going.

EMEA teams FUT and NAVI have both made a large leap in the lower bracket run after securing important wins in VCT EMEA.

Here's how they did it.

FUT Esports 2-1 Team Vitality

The first game saw FUT Esports go up against Team Vitality. FUT Esports fell short to FNATIC in a previous game, which knocked them down to the lower bracket, however FUT Esports is known for pulling miraculous runs and this was just that. FUT Esports came on top and secured a spot in Masters.

The matchup between FUT Esports and Vit was pushed back for a couple of hours due to technical issues.

The first map was Split, Team Vit's own map pick. FUT Esports started the first half on defence, in which the Turkish team struggled to put a real fight against the bees, however with four rounds to their name, FUT Esports felt comfortable going into the second half. The second half of the game saw FUT Esports secure eight rounds back to back, leaving them in a four rounds advantage over the bees. And with more determination, FUT closed the first map in their favour, upsetting Vit in their own map pick. The final score was 13-9.

The second map was Haven, FUT Esports' own map pick. Vit started the first half on attack, in which the bees managed to secure, once again, a four rounds advantage. Vit went into the second half with the same spirit, securing the pistol round and the anti-eco round, and that was that, the bees continued on pressing FUT Esports and managed to secure this map for themselves.  The final score was 13-9.

The third map, the decider, was Lotus. FUT Esports started the first half on defence, which saw the Turkish team excel at the map and beat the bees on all fronts. FUT Esports kept the same performance through the second half as well, and managed to close the series in their favour, winning against Team Vit 13-6.

Leading FUT Esports was qRaxs, who had a KDA of 51-38-31 through the three maps, as well as an ACS of 277. Leading Vit was Twisten, who had a KDA of 49-49-14 through the three maps, as well as an ACS of 230.

With the win, FUT Esports now advance further in the lower bracket, where they will face off against NAVI on May 26th.

With the loss, Team Vitality is eliminated from the competition.

The second game saw Giants Gaming go up against NAVI. Both teams were knocked off the upper bracket run and were forced to pull the lower bracket run, NAVI fell short to Team Liquid earlier, while Giants Gaming got knocked in the first round of playoffs to FUT Esports. NAVI wasn't so stocked about their performance against Team Liquid, so the team caused havoc against Giants Gaming.

The first map was Pearl, NAVI's own map pick. Giants Gaming started the first half on defence, in which Giants managed to go toe to toe against NAVI in an even half. However, in the second half, NAVI activated the Suygetsu buff and stomped on Giants, ending the first half in their favor and becoming one win away from Masters.

The second map was Ascent, Giants Gaming's own map pick. Now, this map pick was controversial because Giants Gaming never used this map in recent officials, and it is a well known fact that NAVI excels at this map. This map pick became Giants Gaming's own downfall, and despite their valiant effort, NAVI managed to close this map and punch their ticket to Masters.

Leading NAVI was Suygetsu, who had a KDA of 46-25-5 through both maps, and an ACS of 264. Leading Giants Gaming was Nukkye, who had a KDA of 36-33-20 through both maps, as well as an ACS of 236.

With the win, NAVI now advance further in the lower bracket, where they will face off against FUT Esports on May 26th.

With the loss, Giants Gaming is eliminated from the competition.
